Nottingham Forest player ratings as late VAR denies Reds after Dasilva strike

Nottingham Forest’s grim home run worsened with a 1-0 loss to Coventry City at the City Ground, Jay Dasilva settling it.

Oliver Glasner’s side started brightly, James McAtee testing Carl Rushworth inside the first minute. Coventry saw more of the ball, with Matz Sels saving from Brandon Thomas-Asante and Jack Rudoni shooting over, while Forest efforts from McAtee, Dan Ndoye, Liam Delap and Neco Williams failed to find the net.

On 55 minutes a long Rushworth clearance released Dasilva, who outmuscled Daniel Munoz then beat Sels for Coventry’s first Premier League goal in 25 years.

Glasner turned to Igor Jesus and later Chris Wood as Forest pushed. Jesus lifted over Rushworth only for Bobby Thomas to clear off the line.

In the 88th minute Jesus scored, but after a VAR check referee Jared Gillett ruled a foul on Caleb Yirenkyi in the build-up.

McAtee topped the ratings on 7.5/10, with Xaver Schlager and Jesus at 7/10. Morgan Gibbs-White earned 6.5/10, while Munoz and Ndoye received 5/10 and Jair Cunha 5.5/10.
