Barnes Gets 8, Willock With 7.5 | Newcastle United Players Rated In Hard-Fought Win Vs Hull City

Newcastle United entertained Hull City at St. James’ Park this Saturday as they looked to secure a win at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a great start to the game and scored the opening goal in the third minute when Joe Willock got his name on the scoresheet. Lewis Hall doubled his team’s advantage in the seventh minute as the Tyneside club went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.

Mohamed-Ali Cho got a goal back for Hull in the 67th minute. However, Newcastle hung on to their narrow lead and secured a hard-fought 2-1 win in front of their home fans.

GK: Lukas Hornicek – 6.5/10

He made a couple of solid saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet today.

RB: Jacob Murphy – 7/10

Murphy came back to defend when he could and caught the eye at times inside the opponent’s half.

CB: Malick Thiaw – 7/10

He made a lot of important clearances inside his half and did well to limit the opposition to just one goal.

CB: Sven Botman – 7.5/10

Botman gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and was a rock at the back.

LB: Lewis Hall – 7.5/10

He came back to defend when needed and was lively going forward. Hall doubled Newcastle’s advantage in the seventh minute.

CM: Lewis Miley – 6.5/10

Miley kept things solid at the back for most of the game and made a costly error in the second half.

CM: Sean Steur – 7/10

He was a positive influence on both halves and was replaced after the hour mark.

RW: Harvey Barnes – 8/10

Barnes managed to cause a few headaches for his marker and ended the game with a couple of assists to his name.

He did well to score in the third minute and made some clever runs with the ball as well.

LW: Matias Fernandez-Pardo – 6/10

He was quiet for most of his time on the pitch.

ST: Yoane Wissa – 6/10

Wissa failed to impress during the game and was guilty of missing a penalty.

CB: Fabian Schar – 6.5/10

He was good on the ball.

LW: Bazoumana Toure – 6/10

Toure struggled to influence the game.
