Loan star has sat out last two matches for Toffees

Everton are set to welcome Jack Grealish back in from the cold after he was frozen out for a breach of club discipline.

The attacking midfielder missed the games against Newcastle in both the Carabao Cup and Premier League last week after the Toffees released a statement that the England international had breached the club’s disciplinary code, reportedly skipping training.

A lack of fitness was the reason cited for his absence for the 1-0 victory over the Magpies at St James’ Park last time out, while he was also reported to be ill for the 2-0 defeat by Arsenal the week before.

The Manchester City loanee, who returned to the Hill Dickenson Stadium in the sumnmer transfer window, is now reportedly back in training at the Toffees’ training ground, Finch Farm.

That is according to The Athletic, which claims that the 31-year-old former Aston Villa captain has not yet rejoined his team-mates in the first-team fold as of yet.

There is, however, a plan to reintegrate him back into the cohort ahead of Everton’s game against Brenford after the November international break, which means that he will not face Coventry City this weekend.

That came after the Scot had backed the “club’s decision” to omit the winger from the cup tie against Newcastle on Merseyside, which Everton won 3-1 thanks to goals from James Garner, Hayden Hackney and Thierno Barry.
