Carlos Vicens nearing agreement with Lyon to succeed Paulo Fonseca

Olympique Lyonnais are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Carlos Vicens, the favourite to succeed Paulo Fonseca as manager of the Rhône-based club, according to L’Équipe.
Whilst the Spaniard’s arrival could be officially announced in the coming days, Vicens’ agent, Jorge Mendes, and OL’s sporting director, Matthieu Louis-Jean, still need to finalise the details of the deal. Discussions regarding the terms of the contract, which is expected to run until June 2029, and the composition of the coaching staff are currently underway.
Surrounded by seven assistant coaches during his spell at SC Braga, which came to an end three weeks ago, Vicens – who recently held talks with Louis-Jean – could arrive in France with four of them.
Should negotiations be finalised this weekend, Pep Guardiola’s former assistant at Manchester City could be introduced to his new players – who are due to play away at Stade Brestois 29 tomorrow – as early as Monday.
